Brochure (PDF) →A swimming pool heat pump (also called a pool heat pump or pool heater) is an outdoor unit that warms the water in a pool or spa. It absorbs heat from the surrounding air, a scroll compressor raises the temperature, and a titanium tube-in-shell heat exchanger passes the heat into the pool water. Titanium resists chlorine and salt, so the heat exchanger lasts in pool water.
The heat pump connects to the pool's filtration line. Water from the filter pump runs through the heat pump and back into the pool, and the intelligent controller holds the temperature you set. The same unit can also cool the water, which helps keep a spa or a shallow pool in full sun comfortable.
